How to to post your Assignments

Your First Priority When Class Stars

Your very first priority when the class starts is to get the students

to work

When class begings, you can easily get students to work if three criteria have

been met:

The students have an assignment.

They know where to find the assignment.

They know why they need to do the assignment.

Post the assignments on the same place every

day. Even if it is the same

assignment, post it.

If they know that the assignment is in the same place every day, the won`t have to ask about it because they will find it by themselves

Assignments must be posted Daily and consistently

1. An assignment must be posted before the students enter the room.

2. Assignment must be posted on the same location every day.

The texbook is not the curriculum

Having students fill in worksheets to keep them busy and quiet is not the curriculum.

Are you going to show us a movie?»« Are you going to read to us?»

These activities should be planned

Or worse yet, if the teacher wondersabout where class was left…« Are we going to do anything important today?

The students must be responsible for classwork. The direction and responsibility for student’s classwork are based on the teacher’s having a daily schedule and assignment ready.

Effective teachers have effective students. They understand they are there to help them learn.

Assigments Teach Students Responsibility

• The effective teacher teaches responsibility.

• Effective teachers have their schedules and assignments posted. The students in their classes know what to expect during the day and where to look for their assignments.
