A MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF
SCHOOL
As the sun is shining, I hope that families are managing to spend some time together,
safely, outside enjoying our local environment. We miss you all at HJS and
we hope that as the end of the term draws nearer that we can begin to plan an appropriate transition back to school for
everyone in September. There will be a number of letters over the next few weeks
about staffing and transition so please ensure you check your emails daily. I look forward to seeing you all soon.
Mr.James

More wonderful poetry
The Magnificent Land Written by Sylvie Turner
The Sapphire sky so big and bright,
I took one step and a terrifying Tarantula was at my feet,
ahh!
I ran so fast and bump,
I was at the foot of a magnificent mango tree
And in front of me was the neverending sea
A mango dropped onto my lap, I ate it.
There was a funky fossil on the ground
I looked behind me and there was a zippy zip line.
I went on it and I saw almost 50 flowers rush past me.
PUPIL SUCCESS
Alex Brati who passed his level 3 grade in electric guitar with merit.
Flo Gardner took part in the ABRSM Make Music Day on her flute at the weekend- it was a large virtual orchestra who all
performed ‘How Far I'll Go from Moana’. Flo recorded her part, submitted it & then
the entries got edited together to make the full piece.
Many congratulations to them both.
Izzy's home learning project. She used her piano to compose her own
piece of music inspired by Tortoises by Saint-Saens; one of the tasks set by Mrs
Burbage based on the Carnival of the Animals.
Teachers social distance workouts-
trying to keep fit!
