The Gauntlet $15.95 Beautiful embossed hardcover binding. To myyoung sons, this was an exciting adventure story about a boytransported back in time to the 14th century, but I saw it as a fairly wellcrafted scheme to introduce children to medieval life and times. Itwould be a good way to start a unit on medieval history. After readingit, my boys went to the Internet and discovered there really is a CarregCennen Castle in Wales--and they want to visit it someday! 11+
