Mission Leadership Management aims to match the
available talent (current Cobb employees and out-of-district applicants) to the needs of the District. It further assists the District in meeting the stra-tegic and operational challenges facing it by having the right people in the right places at the right times to do the right things.
Purpose PTo provide a sufficiently large and diverse
number of highly qualified candidates to fill local school and central office administrative openings.
PAssist principals and central office administra-tors in their selection process.
PAssist applicants, both internal and external, in completing leadership applications and understanding the system’s leadership selection process.
PProvide career counseling and guidance through informal office visits, as needed.
PTo help individuals realize their career objectives in administration.
PForecast replacement needs as a means of targeting necessary training, employee education, and employee development.
PTo provide excellent customer service to the Cobb County School District’s internal and external leadership applicants.
Professional Development Opportunities Leadership Management works closely with the Professional Learning Department to provide needed pro-fessional development opportunities to meet the growing needs of our administrators. Information and announcements on professional development opportunities are disseminated via email to principals and can be found on the Cobb County School District Human Resources webpage and Intranet Support site.

Principal, Assistant Principal and Assistant Administrator Application Process and Minimum Qualifications
Listed below is information about the application process and the minimum qualifications needed for local school administrative positions. Please contact Leadership Management at (770) 426-3560 if you have any questions.
Application Process
1. Submit an electronic administrative application. The STAR online application can be accessed at www.cobbk12.org/hr/leadership.
2. Upload current résumé of qualifications and copy of leadership certificate via the STAR online applica-tion portal or send to HR-Leadership Management.
Minimum Qualifications *
Principal
P Master’s Degree P Valid Georgia Educational Leadership
certificate at level 5 or higher; or comparable certificate from out-of-state
P Minimum of three (3) years successful experience in school administration and/or supervision in education
Assistant Principal
P Master’s Degree P Valid Georgia Educational Leadership cer-
tificate at level 5 or higher; or meets quali-fications for NL-5; or comparable certifi-cate from out-of-state
P Minimum of three (3) years successful educational experience
Assistant Administrator
P Master’s Degree P Valid Georgia Educational Leadership
certificate at level 5 or higher; or meets qualifications for NL-5; or com-parable certificate from out-of-state
P Minimum of three (3) years successful educational experience
