Its capital is Honolulu on the island of Oahu.

The state occupies most of the Hawaiian archipelago, the northernmost island group in Polynesia, in the central Pacific Ocean, southwest of the continental United States, southeast of Japan and northeast of Australia.

GOVERMENT The City and County of Honolulu is

administered by a mayor and a council of nine members, elected for four years.
