World War I Begins

1914When war began the Breslau’s objective was simple-enlist the Ottoman Empire as an ally. As 1914 drew to a close we participated in raiding the Russian Coast prompting a declaration of war.

Promotion and Transfer The Breslau (now named Midilli) is put into dry dock for repairs. I am placed in command of an airfield in the Dardanelles.
