Welcome to Week 6 Term 4!
Last week the students enjoyed a short week due to cup day.
We made up for a relaxing day of a lighter, cup themed pro-
gram on Monday, with some hard work and excellent progress
towards the end of the week.
Even on a wet and rainy day, our Year 4s still know how to have
a good time!

7 HABITS AT HOME
Habit 1 is Be Proactive- “I am in charge of me.” This Habit is the key to moving from dependence to personal reasonability. This means the child is in charge of their choices, the consequences of those choices, how they respond in every situation, and their personal belongings. Ways to apply at home: Allow choices: would they like the blue plate or the
yellow, would they like to go to bed now or in 10
minutes, would they like to read or do a puzzle. It
doesn’t matter how large or small the choice, prac-
tice matters. They can begin to take charge of what
is going on in their own life.
Congratulations to our Stars of the Week!
4A— Allanah D & Laoise C
For producing exceptional Dreamtime stories . What true superstars they are!
4M— Talon M For being in charge of all of his work and for trying
his absolute best in writing and assessments.
4G — Daniel K For for trying his absolute best in writing and assess-
ments and encouraging others to do the same. Well done Dan!
This week in Grade 4
Literacy This week will see students move onto a 5
week unit of Poetry, beginning with limericks—
funny little poems with a distinct rhyme and rhythm
pattern.
Mathematics This week students will revise, con-
solidate, and extend on their division skills as they
explore a range of division based problems.
Inquiry This week students will complete and pre-
sent their Explorers projects as we celebrate their
learning and the hard work and synergy they have
put into their group work. Students will also begin
work on a Diorama project , that will see them pro-
ducing a Diorama of their Dreamtime stories.

Colouring and Drawing Club
During lunch time there is a new tub that
children can use to draw and colour pic-
tures.
It is set up near the grade 2 portables, un-
der a shady tree and encourages anyone who would like to draw,
colour and make new friends. It is all about having fun! The grade
two children look forward to any student who would like to join in
and be a lunch time artist.
Sun Smart
A reminder to bring hats to school this term. Thank you!
Did you know that there may be as many as 3,000 different kinds of insects — more than all the other animal and plant species combined?
Of the huge numbers of insects, only a tiny amount, one percent, are harmful to humans. Most insects are harmless or actually beneficial. For example, without bees to pollinate flowers, plants would not have a way of reproducing and we wouldn’t have anything to eat!
