1.1. Why come?
Learn from our talented chef instructors, no matter what your skill level
It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out or you’re already a skilled chef — our programs cover everything from the basics to the newest cooking techniques. Classes are divided into small groups according to age. Each year, we enhance our curriculum with new dishes, techniques, and topics.
Meet some of your favorite contestants from the MasterChef TV shows.
MasterChef and MasterChef Junior contestants visit camp and spend the day with the campers. They participate in culinary classes and cooking challenges, teach tips and tricks and give campers hands-on advice. You’ll hear funny stories and discover behind-the-scene secrets of the show.
Participate in team competitions and cooking challenges
On Day One, campers will meet their teammates for the duration of the camp. Together, teams compete in events and challenges, fully immersed in the MasterChef experience. Each team earns points as they compete throughout the week and at the end of the week, the team with the most points is crowned the winner of Camp MasterChef!
Enjoy sports and outdoor activities
There’s more to camp than cooking — campers will also have plenty of time for sports and other fun activities. Our counselors plan many exciting events outside of the kitchen, including basketball, volleyball, swimming, outdoor activities and field trips.
Attend theme parties every night
Every night, campers attend a different theme party. This year, you’ll travel by time-machine to experience different eras in world history: Classical Greece, Mysterious London, Imperial China, Rock ‘n Roll USA, and more!
Meet an unforgettable team of chefs and counselors
Our team is filled with energy and passion! Your Cabin Counselor provides day-to-day support for your stay at Camp MasterChef. Your Team Coach motivates and guides you during cooking competitions. Your Chef Instructor teaches you culinary skills in a fun and engaging way.

Media production specialists are responsible for video production and photography during camp. They also keep you informed about camp by posting to the parent dashboard.
We have a team of nurses in every camp. They are in charge of distributing medications, applying first aid, and caring for any illness or accident that may arise.

Activities and Environment
What’s included in a typical day at Camp MasterChef?
Each day at Camp MasterChef is organized into three different blocks of daily activities.
Cooking lessons
Our culinary curriculum covers everything from the basics to the latest cooking techniques. The classes are divided into small groups according to age, with a maximum of 15 campers per group.
Each day, we focus on a new concept. We start with a short theoretical introduction, followed by a practical lesson.
Our acclaimed professional culinary instructors teach classic and innovative techniques to make healthy, interesting dishes. During Camp MasterChef, campers take a hands-on role in planning and preparing gourmet family meals.
Team culinary competitions
In the spirit of MasterChef, each team competes in a series of daily challenges and culinary competitions. On Day One, campers break out into teams. They stay with the same team for the camp.
Free time and sports
We understand the importance of exercise, fitness, and a balanced diet.
12
Each day includes team sports and swimming. Every evening, our staff organizes a theme party for campers. Kids who sign up for the two-week session will take a field trip to visit local farmers and producers.
Does my child need previous knowledge of cooking to attend Camp MasterChef?
Not at all. If your child is new to cooking, our goal is that they leave Camp MasterChef with a passion for cooking and tools for a healthy lifestyle.
Classes are organized based on age and designed to help students progress at their own pace. We’ll teach your child how to prepare a variety of full-course meals from scratch.
Transportation
Where and when do I drop off my child? Campers are scheduled to arrive on Sundays between 2 PM-4 PM.
When you arrive, you’ll meet your child’s counselor and tour the facilities. Then, your child will start team-building activities and begin meeting other campers. Camp doors are closed at 4 PM — if you plan to arrive later than 4 PM, please let us know in advance by phone or email.
Where and when do I pick up my child? Camp ends on Saturday with the Closing Ceremony at 11 AM. After the ceremony, you’ll have a chance to taste the appetizers that campers have prepared for you. Then you can pick up your luggage and we’ll say goodbye — ’til next year!
Basic rules
What are the Camp MasterChef rules?
Behavior at Camp MasterChef must align with the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. When campers and staff respect these values, everyone has more fun.
All campers and parents must review and sign the Camper Code of Conduct before camp.
Here are some of the general requirements from the Camper Code of Conduct.
Behavior on the buses and vans to and from Camp MasterChef Camp MasterChef staff members monitor camper behavior on the bus and in camp vans. Specific rules will be announced prior to each trip. Appropriate behavior is necessary for the safety of everyone on board — misbehavior distracts the drivers. Campers who violate bus rules will be issued a written reprimand, and the Camp Director will call their parents.
General Behavior at Camp MasterChef The Camp MasterChef staff will review the Code of Conduct with all campers on Day One. Appropriate behavior is necessary for everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience at camp. Among other things, bullying of any form will not be tolerated and will be dealt with quickly and seriously.
Camp MasterChef is a co-ed camp. Most of the time, boys and girls will be together. There are certain times where boys and girls will need to be with their own cabin groups.
Dining Hall Behavior Healthy eating in a pleasant atmosphere is necessary for everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience. Each meal will be conducted with decorum and good manners. Once the tables have been cleared, cheers and other celebrations may begin.
Bedtime Getting enough rest is essential for staying healthy at camp. After the nightly theme party, it’s time to go to sleep.
Theft Theft will not be tolerated. Please turn in any lost items that you find to a staff member, so they can be returned to their owner.
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drugs Camp MasterChef is a drug-free environment. Campers who possess, consume, or are under the influence of drugs will be removed from camp. This includes alcohol, tobacco, and any drug paraphernalia.
Parents will be called and the camper will be sent home. Any extra travel expenses will be billed to parents and all camp fees will be forfeited.
13
Are electronics such as cell phones, laptops, tablets, and video games allowed? The goal of Camp MasterChef is to focus on the culinary experience and be present in the moment. This presence is best achieved in the absence of connected devices.
We are an electronic free camp. No smartphones or devices with Internet capability are allowed at Camp MasterChef. This includes cell phones, computers, Kindles/eReaders, laptops, iPads, mini iPads, iPods, iTouches, Game Boys, etc.
We make an exception for cell phones, which may be used at dedicated times to call home on Wednesday and Sunday. Your child’s counselor will keep all cell phones and distribute them during designated calling times. At all other times, cell phones will be turned off. If you need to contact your child urgently, we will provide a camp phone number on the day you arrive.
What does my child need to bring to camp?
Campers need comfortable clothes for cooking, sport clothes and shoes for outdoor activities, and warm clothes for the evening. Despite being summer, nights are often cool. We recommend bringing some warm clothing and raincoat. One of the theme parties is a gala evening, so we recommend bringing something more elegant for that special night.
We strongly recommend checking our suggested packing list on the website.
We provide all cooking tools. We ask that campers bring two aprons, along with a notebook and pen to take notes. We also provide 2 Camp MasterChef aprons for competitions.
In the one week sessions, we do not provide laundry service, so we ask campers to bring enough clothes for the duration of their stay.
In two-week sessions, there will be laundry service on Saturday (we recommend not leaving delicate clothes to wash, since we are not responsible for the possible flaws may arise during washing and drying).
Nutrition
What will my child eat?
As professional chefs and instructors, we believe in the importance of a balanced diet. We prepare a healthy menu for each day.
We take the utmost care to accommodate allergies and food intolerances. When you fill out the registration form, please pay special attention to the section on food intolerances.
In an effort to respond to the needs of many campers, as well as to ensure the safest environment possible, we are a peanut free and tree-nut free camp. We do not serve any products that contain these ingredients and we ask that you do not send your children any nut products during their travels to camp.
Camp MasterChef contestants in the Camp MasterChef
Which MasterChef contestants will visit camp? Which MasterChef Junior participants will be attending?
We want this to be a surprise for your children, so this will be disclosed upon arrival at camp.
Can I follow along with my child’s experience at camp?
Our parent dashboard includes a news and photo section, where our media specialists upload pictures and updates from camp.
Does my child need extra money for camp?
The camp price is all inclusive. Your child does not need extra money.
Contact Between Campers and Parents s
Can campers use cell phones? How can I speak with my child?
The use of cell phones is allowed on Wednesday and Sunday. We have a designated time for phone calls, usually during afternoon snack. Since connected devices are not allowed at camp, your child’s counselor will keep all cell phones and distribute them during designated calling times. At all other times, cell phones will be turned off. If you need to contact your child urgently, we will provide a camp phone number on the day you arrive.
Can I send an email to my child at camp? Yes, parents can email campers through their parent dashboard, and we will distribute the mail during the day.
14
Health Care
What if my child gets ill or suffers an accident?
Your child’s health and safety is paramount at Camp MasterChef. Each camp has several on-site nurses in charge of distributing medications, applying first aid, and caring for your child in case of accident or illness. If your child needs any medications at camp, you will need to provide this information on the Medical Authorization Form, included as part of registration.
Our camps are less than a 15-minute ambulance ride to the nearest hospital. We have clear action protocols in case of accidents or severe illness.
Health insurance for each camper is a requirement by Camp MasterChef. If you live outside of the U.S. and your insurance provider does not provide U.S. coverage, please email our office at info@campmasterchef.com at your earliest convenience.
Travel
Do parents have to drop off their children? We strongly recommend parents to drop off campers; however we offer transportation to and from the camp. Many campers fly directly to the surrounding major airports where we’ll provide transportation.
During registration process, you’ll fill out a transportation form and select your method of travel.
In case one of the parents or legal guardian cannot pick the child up, an authorization form must be completed so another person can pick them up.
