EQUIPMENT - bag - floor staff - musical alphabet letters - alphabet string flashcards
HOW TO PLAY
Pupil chooses one from the bag. Goes and ‘writes’ it on the floor keyboard using letter names then comes back and plays it starting on any correct note on the piano. This can be done against the clock for added tension.

HOW TO PLAY
Four flashcards are distributed around the room, ideally in 4 corners. I play one and pupil has to go to the correct corner.

HOW TO PLAY
Place the flashcards on the floor and put a piece of bubblewrap over each one. Play a flashcard pattern to the student, they copy then as quickly as possible go and jump on the corresponding flashcard, causing the bubblewrap to pop!

Mountain before you start - alphabet strings flashcards
HOW TO PLAY
Show the pupil a flashcard and s/he has to say and play the correct notes and pattern. If both are correct they can add two pieces of lego to the Lego Mountain. This can be a whole studio activity and create a sense of unity and purpose.

HOW TO PLAY
Show the pupil a flashcard and the pupil has to say or sing the names of the notes. If s/he get this right s/he can ‘shoot’ an object into the bin. Singing gets two shots.

HOW TO PLAY The pupil is given a small number of flashcards to look at. Ideally s/he should hear the pattern in their thinking voice but could sing aloud initially. Pupil moves away from piano and just two cards are played. Student has to identify which cards were not played. For extra point can play the odd one-out cards.

EQUIPMENT - landmark note flashcards with points
written on the back (the more notes or harder patterns get more points)
- bean bags or small objects - floor spots
HOW TO PLAY
Put the floor spots out and place a flashcard on each one. Place one floor spot at the front as the ‘throwing’ area. The pupil has to toss a beanbag onto a flashcard and, if s/he ‘hits’ they play the pattern.
