FORGET ABOUT HIS WILL FOR YOUR LIFE

Sometimes the phrase, God’s will, is used as though God is going to give us a complete map for the rest of our lives

here on earth.

That is not how God works!

Abraham

Moses and the people of Israel

In the New Testament not knowing what will happen in your future is a description of

the life of every follower of Jesus!

He will take our daily responses and make them into a year of

miracles.

Do you obsess over the will of God?

DO NOT FEAR THE FUTURE!

If our great all-knowing and all-powerful and all-present King is

with us, then who or what do we need to fear?

Why are so many Christians living a life that looks just like the lives of those who are of

this world?

It’s because they have added Jesus as ONE of the parts of

their life instead of making Him the MAIN part of their life.

We need to remember who the King of King’s is.

This is more than something we acknowledge with our

mouths; we must acknowledge it with our lives.

Luke 9:23

He is calling us to be willing to suffer ANYTHING and forsake EVERYTHING for the sake of

the gospel.

In the NT times when you took up your cross, you weren’t coming back!

As one of His followers, Jesus commands you to walk with Him and give yourself to the

leadership of the Spirit.

This requires the death of your selfish nature that

demands to be in control.

Truthfully most Christians don’t need the Holy Spirit because they are not attempting to do

any God sized things!

Here’s why this is called the good news even though the world in which we live recoils

against such talk.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Zechariah 4:6

Once you taste of all that the Spirit can do IN and THROUGH

you-things that you could NEVER accomplish-you won’t

want your old way of life.

It just makes sense to let the Spirit finish what He started.

Galatians 3:1-3

But here’s the problem.

Even though it makes sense in your head to give the control of your life to the Spirit who is all

knowing, all powerful and always there for you, your heart won’t feel

like doing it.

So how do we change?

Let’s rehearse some facts:

1) Jesus can’t just be another part of your life.

2) You can’t do this in your power, but when you surrender to the

control of the Spirit all the power you need is bestowed up you to

get the day’s deeds done!

3) Although as true believers we can never lose the Spirit-He

is in us forever, but we can refuse Him as our Master.

4) The filling of the Spirit is something that requires a

constant pursuit of the Spirit and His power to accomplish

and keep.

Paul describes this in a practical way as walking with the Spirit in Galatians 5:16

It takes the Spirit doing His part and you doing your part to live

the way of life that pleases Christ.

Philippians 2:12-13

Who or what are you keeping in step with?

If you now know that your problem is that you have reduced Jesus to

just one of the parts of your life and you want to make Him YOUR LIFE,

then how can you do it?

The best instrument you have to accomplish this is praise.

We don't praise God so He doesn't forget who He is but so

we don't forget Who He is.

There are 2 reasons for us to praise Jesus:

1. We praise Him because of what He has already done.

2. We praise God because He is going to do more in our future than we can dream.

Ephesians 3:20

We need to learn to experience the power of praise in any

situation we find ourselves.
