Forest School Week 4

20th March

In the forest animals rely on their senses to hunt and to avoid being something’s dinner!

We played several games where we had to rely on our senses of sight, sound, and smell.

We went on an ‘unnatural’ nature trail……

… to find objects that don’t belong in the forest.

We walked slowly down the path looking up high, down low and all around us in the trees and bushes.

Some objects were easily spotted……

……. but others were much more difficult to see.

Mrs Misselbrook made the task quite tricky!

There were 21 objects to find altogether.

We were not allowed to help each other in this task until everybody had walked through the trail and back again.

We recognised several objects but we had to guess because we were not allowed to pick things up to see what they were.

Some people were very observant and managed to see most of the objects. Others found this task quite challenging!

At the end of the trail, we had to try and remember everything we had seen.

As a class we did quite well and managed to see and remember 20 out of the 21 objects!

It was quite frustrating that we didn’t see the carefully hidden green wire stuck hanging from a tree!
