• Use of these poems as springboards to write one's own poem-in-progress on the spot

• Reading aloud on-the-spot poems-in-progress in order to use the voice as an instrument, especially if any of these students plan to join the public open mic event later (at Blanchard)

• Every participant is welcome to bring in one poem. Each participant will have the opportunity to say whether the poem is finished (and is sharing for listening pleasure) or is a poem-in-progress (and welcomes feedback). If a student wishes feedback, then 16 copies of the poem should be brought to the workshop.
