We’re pleased to introduce daily breakfast service in the VUE 34 Lounge starting Monday, February 3. Expect a menu of both hot and cold morning items as well as Starbucks coffee. Looking for a pick-me-up? Later in the day, we’re showcasing a Coffee Happy Hour that’s certain to do the trick. Popular in its first month, guests of members can now use their personal credit card for charging dinner or beverages when with a member. Canvas & CocktailsOn Thursday, February 27 from 6:30-9 p.m., members will learn the fun and exhilarating step-by-step process of creating their own painting on canvas as guided by a local, professional artist. This evening’s art subject: The Jacksonville Bridge (see left). All art supplies will be provided. A selection of complimentary light hors d’oeuvres will be provided with Happy Hour prices in effect. $35 per person. Call 354-0044 by February 20 to reserve your canvas.

We Have an App for ThatOne of the most asked for appetizers from the popular VUE 34 is the House Chips. These light golden treats start with the finest Idaho potatoes, lightly fried in vegetable oil and enhanced by herbs and spices before being topped with pecorino and Maytag bleu cheese. For our 60th Anniversary, the House Chips are specially priced at an attractive $0.60 per serving.
Global Business LuncheonPresented by The World Affairs Council and The River Club
Terri Kelly, President and CEO of W.L. Gore & Associates will be the keynote speaker at the next Global Business Luncheon scheduled for Thursday, February 13 at noon. “Nurturing a Culture of Innovation” will be the theme of her presentation. Join fellow members on Tuesday, February 25 at 6:30 p.m. for another in the popular series of wine tastings. This month, we’ll compare Northen Hemisphere wines and Southern Hemishere wines. A wine expert will share with all the subtleties, vintage and appellation of each of the following standouts:

The River Club will be featuring a dinner and theater package for the Friday, February 21 performance of “Warhorse” at The Times-Union Center. Enjoy the Chef ’s lavish seafood buffet, a ticket to the show (1st Orchestra Seating) and transportation to and from the Times-Union Center for only $120 per person with gratuity and tax additional. It’s here that the young ones will enjoy a Knee High Buffet of chicken fingers, pizza and French fries followed by a craft session where all will design animal masks. Then, the children will be entertained and educated as a baby gator, turtles, bearded dragons, ferrets, snakes and other

A Visit to ‘The Big Easy’This month’s featured reciprocal club for River Club members is The Plimsoll Club in New Orleans, Louisiana. Located on the 11th floor of the Westin Canal Place Hotel, this world-class private dining facility features a spectacular view of the Mississippi River and French Quarter. Remember that Mardi Gras activities extend from March 1-4.
