Sonic® fasteners are manufactured with the use of hot

forging to create various head configurations and most

simple protrusion geometries. Hot forging of the head

providesbothlowercostandsuperiormechanicalproperties

when compared to similar machined components. Cost

savingsareachievedbytheuseofsmallerbarstockforthe

forgingblankwhichreducesmaterialcost,andeliminates

numerous machining operations. Enhanced fastener

strengthisrealizedbyretaininguninterruptedgrainflowat

thecriticalinterfacebetweenthefastenerheadandshank.

Sargent’sTorrance,Californiafacility,focusedonspecialty

fastener production, is certified to industries standards

including ISO9001, AS9100 and NADCAP. Specific
