•Anokhi's roots lie in Jaipur, a city whose founders were enlightened patrons of the arts and crafts. Skilled craftsmen were invited to settle here and were ensured a secure livelihood.

• As pioneers of hand block printing for the export market, Anokhi has built on these for the last thirty years.

•It has build a symbiotic relationship between the market and the design product - between skill and tradition.

•For many years, Anokhi has also been developing products in specialised areas such as appliqué, embroidery, patchwork and bead work.

•Anokhi offers a diverse and colourful selection of products. - Indian and Western in design - home textiles, sarongs and accessories.

•Anokhi has three hundred employees working on its premises at Jaipur and another fifty who work at the Anokhi stores in Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai.

•The Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing (AMHP) opened in 2005 as an attempt to focus on the existent tradition of hand block printing throughout India and especially within the local regions of Jaipur, Sanganer and Bagru. •It is dedicated to the collection, preservation and interpretation of printed textiles. •It is a venue for the lay person or scholar to study different facets of the craft and develop a greater appreciation of block printing.•The textiles on display are classified by region, technique and date of production.•Many techniques are represented, including natural dyes, mud resist and gold printing with an emphasis on illustrating the interesting stories behind the prints and the complex printing processes involved.
