What is the message?

The risks of noise go beyond hearing loss (synergy with other workplace factors).

Noise goes beyond traditionally ‘loud’ industries – it can affect millions of workers in the service sector (entertainment, education, call centres etc).

Noise is a complex issue and can be a problem in any workplace but it can be tackled successfully.

2003 EU directive which sets new noise exposure limit is to be implemented in Member States by Feb 2006

What are the priority sectors?

Transport (esp. Road and air) Construction Agriculture, fishing, forestry Food and drink manufacturing Metalworking Education Call centres Entertainment (incl. Service sector)
