RESPONDING TO PARENT FEEDBACK
2015-16 Parent Feedback 2016-17 Changes
District meetings were
taking up too much time
• ELA DAC fully integrated with Superintendent Parent Forum
(SPF)
• Eliminated extra session post-Forum for ELA-DAC members
Parents wanted more
interaction and discussion
• More breakouts and time with subject-matter experts in small
groups
• Created optional and elected ELA-DAC Board opportunity
post-Forum for parents
Need leadership training • Launched Family Leadership Institute (FLI) with focus on
vision, values, communication, and organizing for parents
• ELA break-out at the Family Leadership Institute for parents
to sit down with ELA experts
