HOW TO CONDUCT THE RESEARCH (STUDY)

Data collectionResearch tools (instruments) = collection

measuresSurvey InterviewQuestionnaire Observation

formsFormal models for language research:

- Acceptability judgments- Elicited imitation- Magnitude Estimation- Truth-Value judgements and other interpretation tasks- Sentence matching

• The final stage is to report the results gotten in the study

• The research report must be written based on the standard principles of research and the format set by the institution which sponsors the research

• Each institution and organization adapts its own research report format

Third Stage: Report the research

Example To illustrate a report of a study I have taken an example from ASIAN EFL JOURNAL: http://www.asian-efl-journal.com/PDF/Volume-12-Issue-4-Cheng.pdf

Example of a study

Chang. M.Ch., Jui-Chuan. Ch., Yi-Chen. Ch., & Ying-shu. L. (2010).Do They Want the Same Thing?” Learner Perspectives on Two Content- Based Course Designs in the Context of English as a Foreign Language. Asian EFL Journal 12 (4). From http://www.asian-efl-journal.com/PDF/Volume-12-Issue-4-Cheng.pdf
