• We are going to watch a video about Biotic and Abiotic Factors in an environment. As you watch write 1-2 sentences about what they are and how they are related. Let’s watch!

five concentric circles and label each of them with the appropriate level of organization. Describe your population, community, etc.

Activity• Each of you will be assigned a different Biome:

• Tundra, Deciduous forest, Coniferous Forest, Grassland, Shrubland, Rainforest, Desert

• For each Biome, make an Informational Poster that includes the following:• A description of the Biome, or any facts about it• Abiotic Factors: describe the weather, climate,

and other non-living environments/factors• Biotic Factors: describe the animal life, plant life

and examples

• Primary Producers: aka Autotrophs• Use solar (sun) or chemical energy to make

“food”• Photosynthesis: use sunlight to make energy

• Algae and plants

• Chemosynthesis: use chemicals from earth to make energy (without sunlight)• Some bacteria, in hydrothermal vents
