cause-related selling is truly effective:

eBay Giving Works listings have a 6-13% higher sale rate and sell at 2-6% higher prices than identical items not supporting a cause (Fisman, 2009)

Cause-related sellers are more trusted. New sellers with little feedback saw a boost in sale probability of more than 1/3 with an extra 4% added to the price (Fisman, 2009)
