Good morning
Sorry, early
Since many content
My name is Yuuji
Objective
To understand the requirements of the DACP simulator assessment
To have a basic idea of the Airbus flight control system
To practise the assessment via personal computer flight simulator
IVAOHK
What we are not going to do
To teach any Standard Operating Procedures
To teach how to fly an airliner
IVAOHK
What we are going to do
Read and interpret the instrument
Watch demonstration
Learn how to handle the aircraft
IVAOHK
Flight Simulator?
IVAOHK
Oh good
10 years
I am already know what to do
5
Everyone here will be invited to Cathay City
and fly a real Dragonair A320 Simulator!

Primary Flight Display (PFD)& Navigation Display (ND)
Flight parameters are displayed on
Primary Flight Displays PFD
while navigation data is displayed on Navigation DisplaysND
PFD1
PFD2
ND1
ND2
IVAOHK
ND gives the pilots a visual presentation of where the aircraft is in relation to Airfields, Navaids, just like a map.
It can also function as an HSI or RMI, under VOR mode or LS mode.
The yellow icon at the bottom depicts the aircraft while the green line represents the planned flight path viewed from above.

Flight parameters are displayed on
Primary Flight Displays (PFD)

IVAOHK
Also the Vertical Speed Indicator
IVAOHK
The Primary Flight display, displays all the normal Primary Flight indications.
Attitude,
Airspeed,
Altitude,
Vertical Speed,
Heading and Track
IVAOHK
Indicators are laid out in a
classic instrument
T configuration.
IVAOHK
Like what you can see on GAs
IVAOHK
The upper part of the display is known as the
Flight Mode Annunciator (FMA)
IVAOHK
When below 2500 feet above ground, a digital
Radio Altimeter (RA)
is displayed
IVAOHK
Attitude information is shown at the center of the display
IVAOHK
The attitude indicator works in the normal sense
The aircraft is represented by 3 black and yellow symbols which remain fixed
Just like looking the aircraft from the back
IVAOHK
Center = axle of the plane

The Sky Pointer moves against a fixed scale to show angle of bank.
The name is self-explanatory, it always points to the sky.

Below the roll index is the Side Slip Index
This index moves to indicate side slip and replaces the balance indicator(the ball).

IVAOHK
In this example the aircraft is in a 20 degree banked turn to the left with a nose up pitch attitude of 10 degrees

IVAOHK
The compass display is very conventional
The gray scale moves against a fixed yellow line which represents the centerline of the aircraft
In the example shown the aircraft is heading 091 degrees
HEADING 091
IVAOHK
Bottom of PFD, something like ruler
37
The small green diamond represents the aircraft track, and it is normally referred to as the
TRACK DIAMOND
In the example shown the track is 094 degrees which means that the aircraft has 3 degrees of drift to the right
TRACK 094
IVAOHK
38
A selected heading may appear either as;
a blue figure, on the appropriate side on the compass scale or
a blue triangle
IVAOHK
On the FCU there is a Heading selector, with an indicator, that is linked to the selected heading indication on the PFD compass
Target Heading

IVAOHK
All the indications associated with Altitude are located on the right hand side of the PFD

The main part of the display is dedicated to the Altimeter. To the far right is the Vertical Speed display

The vertical speed indication is showing a rate of descent of 800 feet/ minute
Also notice that the target altitude has been set to 9000 feet.

The Speed scale moves behind a fixed yellow reference line and triangle. In the example shown the indicated airspeed is steady at 250 knots
IVAOHK
When the aircraft is accelerating, or decelerating a
Speed Trend Arrow appears
This arrow shows the value that will be attained in 10 seconds if the acdeceleration remains constant

Selected Target Airspeed
Manual speed selection is achieved by a rotary selector on the FCU panel
Speed Selector and Indication
IVAOHK
However, if Autothrust is engaged, you wont need to move the thrust lever to control the speed.
In the assessment Autothrust is engaged for you.
IVAOHK
The Assessment
IVAOHK
Taxy
IVAOHK
Use the tiller to turn.
Be smooth during the turns.
You dont need to touch the sidestick.
Idle thrust is enough for taxy.
Use brakes if necessary.
IVAOHK
Take off
IVAOHK
For departure, usually CONF 1+F(corresponds to the 1 on the handle) or 2 used.
The instructor may set the flaps for you.
IVAOHK
The Thrust Lever has several detents. They are:
IDLE
CL(Climb)
FLX/MCT(Flex/Maximum Continuous Thrust)
TOGA(Take Off/Go Around)
Push the Thrust Lever to FLX/MCT detent for take off
IVAOHK
Push the stick forward during the take off roll until 80 knots.(Half stick forward)
Neutral the stick between 80-100 knots.
Keep the plane straight using the rudder pedals.
When you hear Rotate, gently pull the stick. (About 2/3 backstick) On reaching 15 degrees of pitch, follow the Flight Directors(Green Cross).
IVAOHK
LVR CLB
You will see a flashing LVR CLB(Lever Climb) on the FMA when passing 1,500 feet.
Pull the Thrust Lever to the CLB(Climb) detent. It is one-clickbelow the FLX detent.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART
IVAOHK
You have control.
I have control.
IVAOHK
Each side stick is fitted with a red Take-over pushbutton.
Autopilot is disconnected if the button is pressed.
Press twice to cancel audible warning
IVAOHK
If both sidesticks are being moved at the same time, the pilot flying can keep pressing the Take-over pushbutton to gain control.
The arrow points left showing that the Captain has control.
Avoid moving the sidestick when another pilot is having control.

When the Flight Director is selected
Flight Director indications are on the attitude indicator
IVAOHK
Notice that there is an indication on the FMA when the Flight Directors are switched on

In this example the FD is directing a pitch up and roll to the right
Once the aircraft has achieved the required pitch and bank the Flight Director bars will once again be centralised
Now lets look at the airspeed indications on the PFD

IVAOHK
Approach and Landing
IVAOHK
The Localizer indicator indicates the aircrafts horizontal position relative to the centreline of the runway.(Left or right)
The Glideslope indicator indicates the aircrafts vertical position relative to a 3 degrees profile to the runway.(High or Low)
