01 - GENERAL
A. PHILOSOPHY OF THE COURSES
These courses are designed to transition qualified pilots within the Airbus “Fly-by-Wire” family. A CCQ course is a c ourse which only addresses the differences between the base aircraft and t he difference aircraft. IMPORTANT: Pilots entering this course must be highly knowledgeable on base aircraft systems. The Ground school part is only dedicated to difference study but the final system test is identical to the one required for a standard type rating course. NOTE: Transition courses are performed on a basic variant aircraft, the A320, which covers the A320 family (A318 / A319 / A320 / A321). When transitioning to another variant than the basic one, refer to paragraph 02 - FAMILIARIZATION COURSE
B. PREREQUISITES
a. General
• Licence o Valid ATPL or, o For First Officer only, valid CPL and written ATPL
• Rating
o Appropriate type rating on Airbus Fly By Wire (base aircraft) valid until skill test
• Experience o Current of base aircraft o Minimum of 3 months and 150 hours on base aircraft
b. Specific requirements for ZFTT
• Training conducted on FSTD level C
o Minimum 1500 hours on: multi-pilot turbo-jet transport category aeroplane or multi-pilot turbo-prop aeroplane with maximum take-off weight above 10 tons.
• Training conducted on FSTD level D
o Minimum 500 hours on: multi-pilot turbo-jet transport category aeroplane or multi-pilot turbo-prop aeroplane with maximum take-off weight above 10 tons.
NOTE: According to AMC FCL 1.261(c) For multi-pilot aeroplanes where the student pilot (captain and first officer) has more than 500 hours MPA experience in aeroplanes of similar size and performance, Base Training should include at least 4 landings of which at least one should be a full stop landing. In all other cases the student should complete at least 6 landings.

02 - FAMILIARIZATION BRIEFINGS
Same Type Rating permits the carry-over of total credit for crew qualifying from one variant of aircraft type to another, based on common cockpit and flight characteristics. It allows pilots to get a s ingle type rating to fly all the variants of a s ame aircraft family, provided they performed the relevant Familiarization Course:

03 - CRITERIA OF PROFICIENCY
a. Evaluation during CBT phase:
On completion of this phase, a written multiple choice examination will be completed. The minimum level required, to be declared proficient, is determined by the Airline, but is never below 80%.
b. Unsatisfactory Examination:
Corrective action using the VACBI will be determined by the instructor in coordination with Airbus Training Director. The student will then undertake a VACBI examination.
FFS NOTATIONS
Three boxes are used to record the overall trainee’s performance using “Trainee’s Record” file (see Page 3). They are quoted “Satisfactory”, “May need extra training” or “Unsatisfactory”. • When “Satisfactory” box is ticked:
----> no specific comments are needed: “None” written indication is required. Nevertheless, comments may be made at instructor’s discretion. • When both “Satisfactory” and “May need extra training” boxes are ticked
----> comments are required, and the following session must be assessed as:
- “Satisfactory” ----> comments must confirm improvements: - OR - “Unsatisfactory”
• When “Unsatisfactory” box is ticked:
----> use the specific Progress Incident Report (PIR) (see Page 6) to list and comment the trainee’s
difficulties as well as the number of additional training sessions requested. It must be reported without delay to Airbus Director of Training.
Additional training sessions (see Page 7) have to be commented and use the same identification as the session involved.

The instructor should brief shortly the FFS installation and safety equipment exists, ropes, phones,
etc… before starting the session. 1 During the cockpit preparation, highlight the new location or design of some panels & controls on
overhead, lateral, instruments panels and pedestal. 8 Set up the asymmetry by increasing one side and decreasing the other of the same amount so
that the difference between the two is more than 1 500 kg (3 300 lb). 9 Point out and comment the cross transfer logic:

8 Switch OFF FAC 1 then FAC 2 (through the OVERHEAD Panel FAC P/Bs) and describe the FLT CTL NORM law switching to ALTN then set landing configuration (FLAPS 3) for DIRECT law demonstration. Then restore.
9 Insert ELAC 1 + ELAC 2 FAULT for ILS approach in ALTN law and landing in DIRECT law. 12 Insert HYD Yellow and Green LOW FLUID QTY. 15 Insert an unextinguishable ENG FIRE before V1. 19 Insert ADR 1(2) FAULT on PF side, then ADR 2(1) FAULT on PNF side for ALTN law exercises.
Demonstrate STALL Recoveries in CLEAN and LDG configurations. Switching AIR DATA to the other trainee, transfer controls and repeat exercises. Do not restore ADR 1 + 2 FAULT in order to perform the next exercise (ILS in ALTN law).
