What is diversity?

There are many avenues of diversity. In this presentation we will observe diversity in terms of multiculturalism and how it is displayed in today's global trends.

The term multiculturalism generally refers to an applied ideology of racial, cultural and ethnic diversity within the demographics of a specified place, usually at the scale of an organization such as a school, business, neighborhood, city or nation.

Diversity is a broad concept that includes gender, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, linguistic differences, exceptional abilities, and variations of talents and abilities, and special needs.

Diversity in the White House

On November 4, 2008. Senator Barack Obama was elected as the 44th President of the United States. He is the first African-American to be elected.

We have come a long way since the days of racial segregation and injustice. Such things would have kept us from enjoying the benefits embracing different cultures had

they been allowed to continue.

Encouraging Diversity

Even in today society, it is still a struggle. We all live in this world together and that’s why it is so important for us to be able to find ways to get along. Many diversity programs and projects are being implemented into schools, workplaces, and other organizations in attempts to educate and encourage people to see past stereotypes and to reach common ground among racial groups.
