What is an identity?

•Scouser
•Adulterer

Who am I????
The Rules
•One member from each team will take it in turn to stand in front of the board
•Behind them will be a picture or name of a well known person
•Your team will then have 10 seconds to try and describe the person using only their identities (eg their job, if their married, kids, nationality etc)
•If you guess correctly your team wins one point
•If you describe something that is not their identity (eg what they look like) your team loses a point
•Team at the end with the most points wins a prize
What’s my identity?•In your books draw a stick man about half a page large
•Around it write all of the identities that you have
•Think about all the different aspects you have in your life that leads to your identity
Changing Identities
• Some of your identities will be the same forever for example you will always be a son or daughter
• However some identities will change such as being a pupil at Bramhall High School
• One of the greatest changes of identity is if you move to a different country
London’s East End
• London’s East End is one of the most multi cultural places in Europe
• Many of the people who live there are immigrants
• Immigrants are people who have moved from other countries to live in Britain
• The decision to move are based on push and pull factors
Push Factors
•These are factors that Push you away from your country
•These could be factors such as having no work, war, poverty etc
Pull factors
•These are factors that pull people towards a country
•These could be more jobs, health care etc
Why is the East End of London so multicultural?
