What’s Driving the Change?

Government proposals outlined in the White Paper: Equity and

Excellence: Liberating the NHS

• Statutory duty to establish local Health and Wellbeing Boards

• Need to bring together key NHS, public health, social care leaders

in each local authority and GP consortia to work in partnership

• Need to lead on improving strategic coordination of commissioning.

Flexible approach to how national guidance is

implemented to reflect what is appropriate locally to

deliver the necessary outcomes.
