Today, DAIS serves over 440 students from 27 nationalities in grades Pre‐kindergarten throughGrade12.Rigorousacademiccoursescombinedwithacomprehensiveextra‐curricularprogramfocusonthedevelopmentofthewholechild.Theschoolcurrentlyhas68facultymembersfromninenationalities,ofwhich91%areoverseashiresand9%arelocalhires.Nearlytwo‐thirdsofourteachersholdmaster’sdegrees.Financialresourcesareavailabletosupportpersonalandinstitution‐wideprofessionaldevelopmentandteachers are committed to professional growth, research‐based best practice, and acollaborativefocusonstudentlearning.AsaschoolmanagedbyInternationalSchoolsServices,excellenceisastandard,anexpectation,and a state ofmind. CAMPUSANDFACILITIESAbeautifulnewpurpose‐builtelementaryschoolwillbereadyinthefallof2016,makingroomforgrowthinoursecondarybuilding.Oureducationalfacilitiesofferclassroomsequippedwithmoderntechnology,sciencelabs,libraries,andanathleticcomplexthatincludesanall‐weathersportsfield,gymnasium,stage,fitnesscenter,dancestudio,anda25mindoorswimmingpool.Thecampusresidentialbuildingsincludenewlyconstructedteacherapartmentswithinafive‐minute walk to campus, a student dormitory for our Huamei Academy residents, andcondominiums and townhouses for expatriate families. Also located on our campus are awestern‐stylerestaurant,aspaciouscommunitylobby,andanoutdoorterrace.ABOUTTHEPOSITIONDAISisseekingavisionary,dynamicandinspirationalInterimSecondaryAssistantPrincipaltohelpleadthesecondarydivisions,theInternationalSchoolandtheHuameiAcademy,tothenextlevel of excellence. The International Division, an English speaking American collegepreparatory middle and high school program, is comprised of foreign national students inGrades 6‐12 representing 27 countries. Huamei Academy provides an English speakingAmericancurriculumofferingabroadrangeofAdvancedPlacement(AP)courses toChinesenational students inGrades7‐12whodesire to attend collegeoruniversityprimarily in theUnited States. The Secondary Principal and Assistant Principal provide the leadership andadministrative skills to maximize the learning of these students in Grades 6‐12 in anenvironmentwherealllearnersachieve.
