Hail! MinnesotaMinnesota, hail to thee!
Hail to thee, our college dear!Thy light shall ever be
A beacon bright and clear.Thy sons and daughters true
Will proclaim thee near and far. They will guard thy fame
And adore thy name;Thou shalt be their Northern Star.Like the stream that bends to sea,Like the pine that seeks the blue;
Minnesota, still for theeThy sons are strong and true.
From the woods and waters fair; From the prairies waving far,
At thy call they throng with their shout and song;Hailing thee their Northern Star.
—Truman Elwell Rickard

to this venture, Porcini was a consultant
for Philips Design in Milan, where he
worked on wearable technologies. He
studied product and strategic design
at the University Politecnico of Milan
and at the National College of Art and
Design in Dublin. Since March 2010,
Porcini has been based at 3M USA in

Candidates for Degrees
This program contains the names of College of Design students who have applied to graduate from fall semester 2010 through summer 2011. This is not an official University of Minnesota graduation list.
To graduate with distinction, a student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher at graduation. To graduate with high distinction, a student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher. Graduation with designated Latin honors (cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude) is limited to students who participate in the College of Design’s Upper-Division Honors Program or the University of Minnesota Honors Program. Students must complete honors requirements, including a capstone or thesis project in their major, and, in their last 60 University of Minnesota credits, maintain a 3.50 GPA for cum laude, a 3.66 GPA for magna cum laude, and a 3.75 GPA for summa cum laude honors. Candidates for academic honors are noted in this program.
Students graduating with the Community Engagement Scholars distinction have completed at least nine credits of service-learning coursework, at least 400 hours of community service, and a series of reflective pieces. They have also completed an integrative community project that results in the creation of a sustainable project for a community organization.
