About the college :
The College of Agriculture, Ambajogai, is a constituent college of Vasantrao
Naik Marathwada Agriculture University, Parbhani which is a state run Agriculture
University for Marathwada region of Maharashtra state, India. The college of
Agriculture, Ambajogai was established in the year 2000 vide GR. No.
MKV/1299/77/20-A dated 29-03-2000 to cater the need of agriculture education of
this region and to admit the student for their agriculture graduation programme.
Initially it had the intake capacity of 32 students which simultaneously increased to
60 student per academic year. 30 percent seats are reserved for girls students.
This College is well equipped with practical laboratories, state of the art
classrooms and on farm facilities. The on farm facilities includes the experimental
plots of crop improvement and production, crop protection, crop cafeteria,
demonstration plots , horticultural fruit crop orchards, polyhouse, shed net house
etc. The college has well furnished reading room with library, computer cell,
museum, cultural center, Placement cell, college canteen. The college has wi-fi
facilities available. The college follows the course curriculum described by Indian
Council of Agricultural Research and is the same all over the country. The college
has residential facilities for the students like boys hostel and girls hostel.
The college has well trained and most qualified faculty in their subject. The
students are encouraged to carry out experiments on research aspects of their
choices to make them competent for PG research.
Campus Life: TOP
The campus is safe for its students, surrounded by a boundary wall. The
hostels are guarded by watchmans. Girls hostel gates are closed from 7pm to 6 am
to safeguard the girls students. Hostel mess is available in boys and girls hostel
with aqua guard water facilities. The hostel rooms are self contained having utility
facilities. Students make use of college canteen throughout the day and in the
evening having good seating arrangement. There are sitting benches in the campus
used for relaxing by students.
Mission:
The goals and objectives of the agriculture College are as under
i) To generate technical manpower for agriculture.
ii) To generate technologies to increase crop production and
productivity.
iii) To disseminate the technological knowledge in agriculture to rural
farming communities.
iv) To help the peasant for starting agro based industries and marketing
farm produce.
Objectives :
i) To provide agriculture related technical education to its graduating
students.
ii) To make its graduating students competent enough to start their own
agro industries and farm productions.
iii) To provide extension service to the needy rural people.

Admission Process:
Admission to the undergraduate program of the college is through
Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research , Pune. Upto 2017 it
was based on percentage of marks obtained in higher secondary board certificate.
From 2018, the admission is based on CET score of Maharashtra CET.
Examination and evaluation:
The graduation programme is of 8 semesters distributed over 4 years i.e 2
semester per year. The semester has one mid term examination and final
examination in each subject. The programme has 165 credit course load distributed
over the 4 year programme. The evaluation is done at university level. Each
student is allocated to a advisor who advice student throughout their degree
program for its smooth completion.
Extra- Curriculum Activities:
The college has separate play ground for girls and separate play ground for
boys which include volley ball, kho-kho, kabaddi ground and a common running
track .Table tennis, chess and carom, facilities are available as indoor game. Yoga
park is available for yogasana.
About the Place:
Ambajogai has a good climate through out the year. The morning and
evenings are cool and breezy at the campus. The campus is situated on Ambajogai-
Beed road on the outskirt of the city. The city of Ambajogai is well connected to
all the important cities of the state by state road transport bus service and air-
condition travels. The nearest railway station is either parli – vaijanath (28km) and
latur (35km). The nearest airport is Aurangabad (180km). The nearest international
airport is Hyderabad (280km). Ambajogai is known as place of education
institution in marathwada region from a century. The city of Ambajogai has
reasonably all facilities of human sustenance.
