Coffee Is a widely consumed non-alcoholic beverage prepared from the roasted seeds commonly called the beans of the coffee plant.

DIFFERENT VARIETIES OF COFFEE BEANS

• COFFEA ARABICA• Arabica coffee is considered to have a

better flavor than Robusta. For this reason, about three fourths of coffee cultivated worldwide is of the Arabica variety.•Most Arabica coffee beans originated

from either Latin America East Africa/ Africa, or Asia/Pacific.

• COFFEA ARABICA

•COFFEE ROBUSTA • Compared to Arabica, tends to be bitter

and has less flavor.• Robusta coffee is less susceptible to

disease than Arabica can be cultivated in environment where Arabica will not thrive.• Contains about 40-50% more caffeine

than Arabica.• Good quality Robustas are used in some

espresso blends to provide a better foam head, and to lower the ingredient cost

• In the Philippines it is the variety used for Kapeng Barako

•Believed to be indigenous to Liberica and southern Sudan respectively.
