A Message From Father Aaron
The Coming of Jesus
Dear Friends,
Our Psalm this Sunday, the first week of Advent,
proclaims what is deep within us, “To you, O Lord,
I lift my soul.” This season of waiting in expectation
of the Lord’s peace is a season for letting the deep
longing that we have for God in our lives find true
fulfillment.
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, came as God
to us in form of a true man so that he could meet
us where we are at and show us the way to holiness
and heaven. This season prepares us for the
unknown day and hour in which each of us will be
called home to meet the Lord of heaven and earth.
In preparing to let Christ come to our hearts and
change us, we are really preparing for the day that
we are judged and stand before him with great hope
in the love and reward that he has in store for those
who love him.
As we journey together, as people of faith, may
our sole focus for the season of waiting and giving
of ourselves, be preparing to let the Child King come
and reign in our lives with his love and goodness in
a new way.
May the Father richly bless and guide us this
Advent to a new and rich relationship with his Son.
“Oh come Emmanuel!”
In Christ,
Father Aaron

WHY DO WE DO THAT? - CATHOLIC LIFE EXPLAINED
Question: What significance does the Advent season have for our Christian
faith journey? What are we joyfully anticipating and expecting?
Answer: Advent is a season of joyful anticipation and expectation. But for
what specifically? Certainly not for the birth of the Christ Child - that
occurred more than 2,000 years ago. This season links us with all those
who lived in the era of longing for the coming of the Messiah. But he has
come and lived among us.
Some are joyfully anticipating the many gifts that they will buy and
share with others, along with the many gifts they will receive in return.
Others enter into the overblown commercialism - decorating, partying,
writing cards, and all the endless customs that go with the season.
What if the anticipation and expectation were to focus on how we can
continue to make present the living Christ in each and every moment of
our daily lives? Yes, Jesus came among us 2,000 years ago. But how do
we continue to make that presence real in our world? Jesus himself sets
the agenda for us. We are to proclaim good news to the poor and give
liberty to captives, sight to the blind, food for the hungry, shelter for the
homeless, and freedom for those who are oppressed and abused. What
would the Advent season look like if this, rather than materialism, was the
main focus of our joyful anticipation and expectation? Try it and see what
results. It may surprise all of us.

Traveling Chalice and Madonna
A VOCATION must be nurtured for a lifetime, not
just until ordination or the taking of vows. You can help
nurture the vocations of priests, sisters and brothers by
praying, listening and appreciating and expressing
appreciation. A life of service needs support from those
served. As we approach Advent let us make special
efforts to pray in thanksgiving for the many ways we
can show our gratitude for opportunities to enhance our
faith lives. Special thanks to Janet and Dan Binsfeld for
hosting the Traveling Chalice and Madonna! You prayers
are instrumental in supporting all Seminarians and
Consecrated Religious.
