Music Notes… As Christmas approaches, our ministry will be sharing an inspired musical program on Christmas Eve at the 5:00 p.m. and Midnight Masses. There will be 30 minutes of Lessons and Carols prior to those liturgies. Cantors will lead songs for the 7:30 p.m. Mass on Christmas Eve and the 8:30 p.m. Mass, as well as the 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Masses on Christmas Day. Beginning New Year’s Day, our combined music ministry (the Choir and Schola) will provide music at the 10:00 a.m. liturgy. It has been a challenge, over the past several years, to gather a consistent number of singers at the 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Masses each Sunday. By consolidating our instrumentalists and singers at one liturgy, we will be able to provide an even stronger voice in praise of our Lord. The Choir and Schola are looking forward to singing together, once again, on a weekly basis as one unified (united) ministry of music. As such, songs at the 11:30 a.m. Mass will be led by one of our dedicated Cantors. If there were a special liturgy at 11:30 a.m., we will move the combined music ministry to that Mass. On Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 2:30 p.m., we will host our annual Epiphany Concert. It will feature our combined ministry, the bell choir from Redeemer Lutheran Church, several area Catholic Church choirs, and a guest artist. This concert will feature songs of the season, congregational carols, choral selections and the glorious sounds of the Redeemer Bell Choir! We hope you can join us for the celebration of Christmas! As always, if you are interested in joining our music ministry, please contact Bob Gaus at 389-1503 or email him at: music.saintjoseph@gmail.com. You can also join us on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/music.saintjoseph As our ministry continues to grow, we are pleased to share the best possible music with our parish!
