Ladies rugby

The Ladies’s Section within Sleaford Rugby Club runs a development team.

Sleaford Ladies are a social, friendly bunch of over 18s who meet every Thursday at 7pm for training.

Games are played on a Sunday afternoon, both home and away. Our training sessions are always full of fun and giggles so it comes as a surprise to us when we realise how much our fitness levels are progressing.

New players always welcome.

highlight Match by Chris Campbell"!

U8s stampede at Stamford"!Sleaford U8s entertained all with a fantastic display at Stamford today.!Sleaford arrived at Stamford looking to build on the fantastic outing to Kesteven last week. Sleaford put out a combined U7&8 team today to compete against 5 other teams from Stamford and Kettering. !The core skills of tag rugby are passing backwards, identifying and moving into space and finally defence. Sleaford proved today they are mastering these skills and honing them to a fine art.!As well as these skills the children are starting to display a knowledge of more complex skills such as support play. !Throughout the morning the team rolled subs on, constantly changing the players in the team. The children adapted well; continuous communicating, calling for the ball and realising that the ball carrier always needs support led to a number of 5 and 6 phase tries. !The kids displayed a high degree of ball retention, without which no team can score tries.!Well done to all the kids who took part.

Long trip to Bedford awarded with away win

in the cup by Tim Schofield"!

Sleaford 1st xv 61 vs. 7 Bedford"!Sleaford ease into the next round of the RFU Senior Vase"!The still unbeaten Sleaford 1st XV had a long distance away trip, on Saturday to Queens of Bedford.Travelling with only a squad of 15 this cup tie was going to be tough especially if any injuries were sustained during the match.!With confidence brimming through the squad because of some very positive recent performances the team were not going to come back empty handed.!Sleaford dominated the first half and to their surprise found the opposition lacking in quality with missed tackles and lots of turnovers. !Whilst Sleaford were resolute in defence showing flair and imagination but at the same time doing the simple things well. This lead to a 39-0 lead at HT for Sleaford, a very much deserved lead too.!Queens came out hard in the second half, but could not penetrate the Sleaford line to score, whilst Sleaford kept the scoreboard ticking by taking their chances. The superior fitness of the team showed in the second half as the score reached 61-0 in Sleaford's favour.!Queens were still trying until the end and dominated the last 10mins as Sleaford switched off because they were coasting at 61-0 and were not wanting to sustain any injuries, allowed Queens to get a late consolation try to end the game 61-7 to Sleaford.!The team await the draw for the next round and hope for a home tie.

Volunteers and helpers required for Bonfire night

Attention all club members, players, parents we need your help on the 8th November for various duties at our firework display.

Hello Everyone,

This is a shout out to everyone at our club.

We need your help on the 8th November when the club is hosting our bonfire spectacular.

This is one of the biggest fundraising events for the club and we need as much help as people are willing to offer.

This could be car parking, taking money, bar, marshalling etc.

This is going to be one of the biggest bonfires ever with Live bands, fairground, outside and inside bar.

Please step forward and help, even if just for a hour or so.

Please contact Lee Williams or Dave Fraser in the club house or message them via Facebook on the Sleaford rugby Club pages or via website (no post it takes to long!!)

Lets pull together as a club and make this night a success

There is also a opportunity for teams to have stands and raise money for the 250 club too, be it raffle, selling items etc. if you want to do this please liaise again with Dave or Lee.

Thank you in advance
