Compatible Numbers
Numbers that are easy to compute with mentally
Dividend The number that is to be divided in a division problem
Divisor The number that divides the dividend
Estimate A number close to an exact amount
Factor A number multiplied by another number to find a product
Partial Quotients
A method of dividing in which multiples of the divisor are subtracted by the dividend then the quotients are added together.
Product The answer to a multiplication problem
Quotient The number, not including the remainder, that results from dividing
Remainder The amount left over when a number cannot be divided equally
