HEAVEN'S DOGGIE-DOOR
My best friend closed his eyes today, As I held him in my arms.
The Doctors said it was time, He’s fought so long, so hard.
The thoughts that scurried through my head, As I hugged him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years, And OH...his many charms.
Today, there was a gentle nudge One last "I love you gaze",
Leaving only a heart that’s filled with tears Remembering our joy-filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me, And he said, "You should hurt no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends, HE has a doggie-door!”
