Hoeffler • Simple Supper – Vestry Host—Calvary Lenten Program • Ash Wednesday, February 26th—Vestry will Host. Supper 6:PM Liturgy at 7:00PM
• It’s important for the Vestry, as leaders of the parish, to participate as much as possible in parish activities. Meatless soups.
• Lock-up Schedule (May through December)—Perry signed-up for May • Sexton - Voluntary—Temporarily lost in the shuffle with Buildings and Grounds—-
Changing lights, making sure little things get done (changing air filters). We have some ongoing problems with lights. Check-list of things to be done.
• Capital Campaign—Meeting yesterday—Heather Dalmasso—Moved things from the Calvary Needs List to maintenance process for vestry. Looked at wiring for organ. Explored information about the parking lot. Capital Campaign—raise a large amount of money for large expenses beyond annual budgeting capabilities.
• Two funds—Memorial Fund —for Capital Improvement. and Special Funds—some are designated, eg. for music, gardens, memorials. Operating expenses should come from pledges. 30 years ago, Calvary had no funds and the parish had to borrow money. The need was there, so they came up with a Capital Fund—the Memorial Funds with its own charter. Major expense, Vestry will ask Memorial Fund people or Special Funds people for money. Memorial Funds are required not to go below $300,000. Capital Campaign has to build the fund back up to at least $300,000. We have Capital Campaigns to be sure we are using the money rightly and wisely. The Diocese of Chicago was aware of the need for Capital Campaigns. The Episcopal Church Foundation is helping parishes participating in the program—Calvary is part of it. Our obligation is, at the end of the capital campaign, we pay the Diocese 10% of what we raise. Linda Buskirk is our ECF consultant.

Closing—Mission Prayer
Loving God, Through your grace guide us, the people of Calvary Episcopal Church, to joyfully carry out our mission of growing faith in your Son, Jesus Christ.
Fill us with your Holy Spirit that we may develop a living faith that deepens our understanding of you and strengthens our awareness of the needs of others.
