$8 million Competitive GrantPromote health and nutrition of

children in child care settings.

14 States½ funds awarded

CACFP child care sponsoring organizations

Grant period 2-3 yearsFund nutrition & physical activities in

child care and after school settings

Oregon received $500,000.

$250,000 will go to CACFP Center Sponsors and FDCH Sponsors

1. Increase the amount and variety of fruits and vegetable consumption for children in child care.

2. Increase access to and consumption of healthy beverage options for children in care.

3. Improve accommodations for breastfeeding if the center or home cares for children under age 1.
