GANTT CHART : PURPOSE
• A Gantt chart is used to show what needs to be done in a project (tasks) and relate it to a timeline
• On the left of the chart is the list of tasks• On the top of the chart is a suitable timeline• Each activity is reflected by a bar. The length of the
bar is from the start date of the task till the end date of the task
• Your Gantt Chart must show:• All the things that need to be done in your project (tasks)• When the task starts and ends• How long (duration) a task is supposed to last• The start and end date of the whole project
GANTT CHART : EXAMPLE
• My project (Renovation of House) has 5 tasks1. Planning (for me to plan in detail what needs to be
done, budget, timeline)2. Get legal documents (permit from council to make sure
my renovation is approved, drawing from architect, etc)3. Finalise contractors (research online to find out who can
do the job and sign contract with contractors)4. Renovate the house 5. Check quality of renovation
