Alumni Speak (Photo of Student, Testimonials, Name of Student, Name
of Program, Batch) – Preferred (student from each year)
My name is Durgesh Gupta. I am currently in Embedded Profession as an
Embedded Engineer (R&D) in Kritikal Solutions
Private Ltd. I am originally from Aligarh and had completed my bachelors in
Electronics engineering from UPES in the batch of 2010 - 2014. Further my fascination
for this area of study became more intense when I was introduced to Embedded in my
1st year of engineering by the faculty of Electronics Department. Through the
motivation, support and encouragement given by my teachers and professors in the
department I was able to involve myself in various trainings, participated in many
competitions and also in the delivering of various technical workshops. Not only to
theoretical knowledge but here the department of Electronics Engineering gives
emphasis to Practical knowledge also. To tip it all, I got a chance to work in an
embedded company. This was only possible because of the infrastructure and support
provided by the department. Above all this, it was possible by GODs amazing grace.
Studying here at Upes, it was a journey of gaining learning for a lifetime. It was a big
stepping stone for today where I stand working at the best and most valuable in the world,
Apple as Asic Design Engineer, it not only makes me proud but the
credit goes to my Alma matter where the foundation for learning was laid for me by the
well versed faculty of my department. I would like to shout out a big Thank you to my
college, department and hope they keep imparting the knowledge curve to the future
generations.

It was a pleasure for me to be in such a great campus with you all. I want to thank all the
faculty members from electronics dept. who helped me to achieve my goal. Special Thanks
to Mr. Rajesh Singh, Mr. Vivek Kaundal, Mr. Pawan Sharma and Mr. Roshan Kumar and
each faculty member in electronics dept. for providing me Practical knowledge in every
covering subjects. I want to thank UPES for providing me the respect and knowledge to
grow up in my life.
VINAY GAHTORI
DELL, Banglore
The electronics department has been wonderful to me! When I came to UPES, all I knew
was that I was interested in electronics and wanted to get a degree in electronic
engineering. But UPES helped me better understand my passions and things that excited
me about electronics. Not only did I learn a vast amount of things academically, UPES
also helped me develop my confidence and that I could successfully pursue a career in my
chosen field. With the help of my professors here and the encouraging atmosphere within
the campus I was able to graduate from UPES as the top scorer from my batch as well as
realize my dream of gaining admission into Georgia Tech University as a student of
Masters in Electronics. UPES helped me focus my energies into achieving the things that I
wanted to and provided me with a wonderful platform to do the same and for that I will
always be grateful to this place and everybody associated with it.
PRAKSHI RASTOGI
I am a 2009-13(Electronics Engineering) pass-out from U.P.E.S, Dehradun. It gives
me immense pleasure to have been given this opportunity to share my experiences
about UPES; where dreams come true. Electrical & Electronics Department of
COES has helped me a lot to overcome the hurdle and achieve my desired success in
Professional career. I would like to take this opportunity to praise my faculty
members and other senior faculties who have always helped me in achieving my
dreams and stand out of the crowd in this world of competition. More than studies, it
has always been the motivation and extra-curricular activities which always inspired
me to take up challenges and always come out with an innovative solution. Studying
at UPES is a different learning experience which only few other top universities
provides in India. I would always be grateful and proud to be an Alumni member of
UPES! Not to mention faculties have always been extra-supportive and caring and
helped us in reaching out to this competitive world with the right mix of knowledge
and student enhancement programs.

I was a M.Tech (Robotics Engineering) student in UPES(2013-15) batch. I was in EIC
department, it had very good and supportive faculty members who gave deep knowledge
about the stream. They gave practical aspects of the subjects such that we can apply that
in the real world and the challenges which we will face in the real time machine. Our labs
gave all the learning which we are applying in the industries now. My special thanks to
Sushabhan Sir, Rajesh Sir, Vivek Sir, Pawan Sir and all members for all their
academic support throughout my college tenure.
With kind regards
Vishal Ojha Research Engineer Industrial Robotics Hi-Tech Robotics, Pune
Electronics and Instrumentation dept. encourages students to be a part of practical
learning, apart from curricular activities, This dept. give emphasis on learning on site and
workshops. Student like me used to keep in touch even after graduation. In my view there
is a world of knowledge in UPES-EIC but it is up to the student and its learning
capabilities that how well it grasp and preserve it for the future.

It’s my sincere pleasure to write these lines for our Electronics instrumentation and
control Department. It’s always been said “a teacher’s purpose is not to create
students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image”,
that’s what our faculties do. Being an ECE student, it’s very tough to stand in this
competitive digital world without any practical approach, but our faculties taught the
subject in a much more practical way, so that a person can easily correlate subject’s
practicality with theory. Our faculties made us involved in many national and
international projects and guided us to execute them successfully. I am very thankful
to such a great department who made me think beyond imagination.
Thank you teachers for guiding me, inspiring me and making me what I am today.
