What is blackout or found poetry? Poetry that is found within the
confines of a page of already written words, where words are selected or highlighted to create a poem.
What do you need to make a blackout poem? A page from a book A pencil Markers Your imagination!
How do I make a blackout poem? First, read the entire page you have selected. Next, choose words that you would like to
include in your poem and underline them in pencil.
Then, choose how you want those words to fit together for your poem.
Finally, create emphasis on the words you’ve selected by either blacking out the other words on the page or somehow highlighting the ones you’ve chosen in a creative and unique way.
