At the end of the training you will know:• What Blackboard is,• How to access Blackboard,• How to access your course material online(Internet),• Your own id and initial password on the system

WHAT IS BLACKBOARD?

It is a Web-based course-management system

It is designed for

• Online classes;

• Online materials; and

• Activities to complement face-to-face teaching

WHAT IS BLACKBOARD USED FOR?

It enables instructors to provide students with

• Course materials,

• Discussion boards,

• Virtual chat,

• Online tests/Assignments, and more

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET STARTED!

• PC with Internet connection

• Web browser (Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or higher or Internet Explorer)

• Obtain Username and Password

• Skills for Browsing Internet

LOGGING INTO SYSTEM

Open a web browser.

Go to: http://10.1.254.60 or

http://TMLEARN.ul.ac.za,

Logging in

Enter your username (Student #)

And password (initially your student #).

Once you have successfully logged into the system, you

can select the course of your choice.
