A better way to communicate your company’s CSR activities

What exactly is this BeSuperhero thing??

Answer: A website where people can share their good deeds, or complete hundreds of easy and fun

missions!

Why would I share my good deeds on some website?

Answer:

• Because you get social recognition from your Facebook friends

• Because you are rewarded for each good deed with badges and superpowers

• Because you can get a small amount of money for every good deed you do, and then donate that money to a non profit cause of your choice.

Real money? Where do you get the money from?

Answer:

• From your company

You must be kiddin’. Why would my company do a crazy

thing like that?Answer:

• Because in this way you may communicate your CSR activities to the right target in a smart & effective way

I don’t get it. Can you explain?

Answer:• Yes.

Well?...

Answer:• Our website will feature a limited number of causes.

For example: Raise 5.000$ to a Breast Cancer Association or Raise 10.000$ to build a school in Kenya.

• Your company can adopt one of our causes, or propose a new cause based on your company’s interests.

• You don’t even have to donate the entire sum. You may establish your own budget.

• You must flip the page here, this is why I dislike Power Point Presentations...

Let me give you an example:

• Bob helps a grandma with her groceries.

• He shares his good deed on BeSuperhero.

• Because BeSuperhero is connected with his Facebook account, all his friends will see his good deed. Based on the likes he gets for his post, he can raise 1, 2 or 3$. Those are, of course, virtual money. Let’s say Bob raised only 1$.

• He can donate that virtual dollar to the cause adopted by your company. Bob sees your logo, a key message and a link to your corporate website where he can see all the CSR activity of your company.

• He gives his virtual dollar to your cause. And your company transforms this virtual dollar into a real one by donating it to the non-profit organization.

• Bob is impressed by your company’s involvement and now he has a positive attitude towards your brand.

• You helped him achieve his goal. Bob loves you!

• Who knows? He might even try next time one of your products.

• His Facebook friends are also impressed, because once Bob chooses your cause, your company name will appear on their news feed.

Uhmm... seems complicated. Can you make me a diagram?

Answer:

• Ok. Fine. Let me sharpen my crayon...

Bob is helping the grandma Bob is sharing his good deed on BeSuperhero & Facebook

Bob gets 5 likes for his good deed

1$For the 5 likes he gets 1 virtual dollar Bob donates this dollar to the

“Help build a school in Kenya” cause, that is adopted by your company

Bob interacts with your brand in a positive way.

The Facebook friends of Bob are also impressed by your company

You get a bonus for achieving your company’s communication goals

Why is this a smarter way to communicate my CSR programs?

Answer:• Usually, when your company develops a CSR program, you must spend more money

on PR, press releases, advertising, press conferences, etc. to communicate your program. Even if you do this, you are not sure that you are reaching the right people.

• With BeSuperhero you only reach those who are interested in those kind of activities, and who meet your criteria. e.g. 20-30 age, females, Germany

• Unlike web banners or Facebook Ads, where users are passively exposed to your ads, on BeSuperhero people are directly interacting with your brand; your brand being an essential part of their site activity.

• If you are relying on Blogs and web PR, people have to read an entire article to get the message. But people don’t like reading a lot and even if they get the message - what’s in it for them? What’s their benefit? With BeSuperhero, people will appreciate your brand, because you’ve already offered them something. They are superheroes thanks to you!
