C. Clearance Requirements
Check the rough-in atnd room dimensions to provide
adequate available space for the bath unit.

A. Old Bath Removal (if necessary)
Disconnect the drain at the trap. Remove the old wall
material. Slip boards under the old bath feet to protect
the floor, and slide the old bath out of the recess as
illustrated.

A. The following installation practicesto avoid any potential
damage to the enamel finish.must be followed
WARNING: Failure to follow the manufacturer'srecommended installation method may result indamage to the enamel surface.
Do not use sharp objects or metal tools whenhandling the bath, especially around the rim area.
Use a clear protective plastic film over tub rim aswell as the bottom of tub to safeguard from dirt andsilicone during the installation process.
For correct installation, bath rim should not come indirect contact with the walls and/or horizontalsurfaces to avoid transmission of noise and vibrationas well as potential cracks in the enamel finish.
The necessary gap between bath rim and the wall is2 mm horizontally and 4 mm vertically. Refer tofigures 1, 2, and 3 below.
Before placing setting-in the bath, apply a sanitaryquality silicone filler on all surfaces to come incontact with the bath rim.Set the bath in its correct position.

Installation
1 . Slide the new bath into position to verify the drain
location and the stud fit. Cut a minimum 152 305
mm hole in the floor for the drain connection.

Slide the new bath into position.Insert the drain tailpiece into the trap.Level the bath by positioning metal shims and bricksunder the bath feet and ensure there is enough spatefor the drain. Attention: the metal shims are necessaryto aroid cracking of bricks. Check for level along the topof the side of the bath and across the drain end. Thebath may have to be moved in and out of the recessarea until it is shimmed properly, if the support feet arenot accessible from the back or side.

Use 25~30 Kg dry cement and sand mix. Add water tomake a paste mortar. Remove the tub. Cover theinstallation area with the mortar starting from the middleof the tub as shown. The height of the mortar shouldreach the bottom of the tub.
DO NOT CLOG THE DRAIN HOLE.
Place the tub onto the mortar. Insert the drain tailpieceinto the trap.Make sure that the bottom of the tub is pressed intomortar in order to secure the tub. Insert two woodwedges under the tub to support the weight of the tubuntil the mortar hardens. (Wedges will remain in themortar.) Frequently check the level of the tub.

C. Finish Bath Area Construction
NOTE: An access panel is essential for future
maintenance.
Possible framing arrangements are illustrated below.
Use the framing construction appropriate for your
particular bath model. Some modifications may be
needed for other types of construction, if preferred.
If an apron wall without a ledge is desired, the finished
apron wall surface must be 2 mm under the bath rim.

INSTALL THE GRIP RAILINSTALL THE GRIP RAIL
For baths with K-8645-CP.
Place the gasket (6) onto the grip rail(7). Make sure thegasket is matching the contour of the grip rail. Positionthe grip rail with gasket so that the hole lines up withthe hole on the nut pre-installed on the side of bath tub.
Note: the smaller side of the grip rail is on the drainside of the tub.
Thread the screw (8) into the hole of the grip rail.Tighten the screw snugly to secure the grip rail. Snapthe cap (9) into each hole.Repeat above procedures for the other grip rail.

CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Do not support
the weight of the bath by the rim.
Install the ceramic or marble tiles. Seal the joints
between the bath rim and the finished tiled wall using
silicone sealant. RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing)
sealant is recommended.
Apply a bead of silicone sealant over the seam
between the bath apron and the finish floor.

When cleaning up after installation, do not use abrasive
cleansers as they may scratch and dull the surface.
Use warm water and liquid, non-abrasive detergent to
clean the surface.
Stubborn stains, paint, or tar can be removed with
turpentine or paint thinner. Do not allow cleaners
containing petroleum distillates to remain in contact
with the bath surface for long periods of time. Plaster
can be removed by scraping with wood edge. Do not
use metal scrapers, wire brushes, or other metal tools.
One of the powder type detergents may be used on a
damp cloth to provide mild abrasive action to the
residual plaster.
