artist.”

Four Artist are:

• Aspect 1: Mercer Mayer• Aspect 2: Errol Le Cain• Aspect 3: Jan Brett• Aspect 4:Katy Bratu

Aspect 1: 1978 Beauty and the Beast illustrated by

Mercer Mayer

Mercer Mayer -He’s an American children’s

book writer and illustrator best know for “Little Critter”

and “Little Monster”.

-Mayer’s first book had no words,

it told the story through his illustrations, many gave

him credit as being one of the creators of the wordless

picture form.

-He collaborated with his wife

Marianna to create the bookBeauty and the Beast

Aspect 2: 1979 Beauty and the Beast illustrated by Errol

Le Cain

Erroll Le Cain

-Errol Le Cain was a British animator and

children's book illustrator.

-His art work was most noted for his richly decorative watercolors and masterful

command of design.

- He won the Kate Greenway Medal in 1985, it was establish in the United

Kingdom to honor children illustrators.

Aspect 3:1989

Beauty and the Beast

illustrated by Jan Brett

Jane Brett-Jan Brett retells

the story in spare, fluent

prose and illustrates it with magical pictures.

-As she travels she studies the traditions of the many countries

and it inspires her as a starting point for her children's

books.

Aspect 4: 1993 Beauty and the Beast illustrated by Katy

Bratun

Katy Bratun

Katy is an author and illustrator she lives in Salem, Massachusetts

Her inspiration for her illustrating comes from real people.

For this project she want it the gestures to be as natural as possible.

Conclusion The meaning of such great fairy

tale is that,"[Beauty] comes to see that under

[the beast's] physical ugliness there is

something that is really very beautiful but it takes perception.  It's a way of saying you've got to

like the world even if it doesn't look so beautiful [at] first."
