The effects of ADHD often vary, but every person with ADHD displays certain behaviours by which it is categorized.

Other behaviors often displayed by people with ADHD include disorganization, aggression, poor relationship building skills, among others. These are not always characteristics of ADHD however (Flick 1).

Things such as flashing lights, bright colors, or changing pictures tend to hold a person with ADHD's attention much longer

People with ADHD are much more prone to accidents than people without because of their impulsivity

Making noise, or talking, or humming at inappropriate times is often a characteristic of people with ADHD because of their hyperactivity

However, it is speculated that this is because boys in general often display more disruptive behavior than girls and are therefore more likely to be tested for ADHD (Mark).

The majority of children with ADHD continue to show symptoms of it through their entire lives

Another cause of ADHD is the mother's behavior during pregnancy. Drug or alcohol use during pregnancy can lead to several birth defects. One of which may be ADHD

Studies indicate that people with ADHD are significantly more likely to have lifetime depression than those that do not (Daviss). This may be attributed to symptoms of ADHD however.

These problems are usually noticeable, but minor. In the case of long-term memory, the problem is often that the person was not paying attention while he or she was receiving the information

There is really no proof that anxiety is caused by ADHD, but there is definitely a correlation. It is of course possible that the other symptoms of ADHD, such as impulsivity are what cause the anxiety
