WHAT IS ASHA RADIO PROGRAM

It is a radio program sponsored by National Health Mission, Assam for the ASHA workers & public with a good intention to help the people to gather knowledge regarding health related matters which will help them to lightening their soul from the darkness of prejudices in collaboration with UNICEF & All India Radio.

BACKGROUND HISTORY

This Radio Program for grass root level functionaries & general public at large was conceptualized and designed by the Department of Health & Family Welfare , Govt. of Assam in the year of 2006-07

& Implemented by the NRHM, Assam in collaboration

with the All India Radio & UNICEF, Assam.

FIRST TIME IN INDIA

Assam is the pioneer state to introduce & launch the ASHA Radio Program FIRST TIME IN INDIA through NHM, Assam

SPECIALITY OF TITLE SONG

The music of the title song of the ASHA radio program is based on the Nagara-naam folk tradition of Assam and is a blend of naam, zikir, & ojha-pali traditions.

The folk based song appeals to ASHAs across different socio cultural & religious backgrounds.

Sunday & Wednesday at 12.30 pm from Guwahati, Dibrugarh Radio centre in Assamese language

Sunday & Wednesday at 12.30 pm from Silchar Radio centre in Bengali language

Monday & Friday at 7.30 pm from Tezpur Radio centre
