AP BIOLOGY

1. Read chapters 6, 16, and 17 in Biology by Campbell & Reese, 7th edition.

2. AFTER you’ve read a chapter take notes on what you have read. The notes will become part of your class binder and graded so SAVE them. The notes may be:

a. in traditional outline (power) note form

b. Colored Cornell notes (see the next page in the packet for details)

c. in concept map format

3. Do the review packet for each chapter

4. Read “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” by Rebecca Skloot (pick it up at Morton’s book store).

5. Answer the discussion questions for the book.

The notes, chapter reviews and book discussion questions will be due the first day of class. A guided and graded book discussion will follow; and there will be an exam on the chapter materials within the week.

Points:

Book notes: 45 points

Chapter 6 review: 65 points

Chapter 16 review: 50 points

Chapter 17 review: 60 points

Discussion questions for the book: 50 points
