The Apps and Storytime debate can be tamed. Start by educating yourself on what both sides say. Use helpful tools to find apprpriate apps for the age group that you are working with.

Circulating them…

•There are some libraries who have purchased iPads, loaded them up with educational games, and circulate them to their patrons.

In Story Times, but be aware…

•American Academy of Pediatrics - parents should limit the amount of time their infants and toddlers spend in front of any sort of screen…there’s really no such thing as educational TV or software for very young children.

•Apps in Storytime is a current DEBATE.•Think before you jump on the bandwagon.

▫Particularly in regards to ages 0-2.

•Simple•No ads!•Great graphics•Enhances and doesn’t distract
