EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

Swimsuit model and animal activist, Laura Guttridge attended the recently held Earth Day Celebration with husband, daughter & several members of Beachland Elementary School. The event was organized to encourage the citizens to protect the environment and reducing the negative impact on the environment.

The event was at the corner of Beach land and Mockingbird Drive and was joined by residents of the Barrier Island.

Ms Guttridge also suggested everyone to call Indian River County School Board to voice their opinion.

The event highlighted that the woodlands are still under threat and the Green spaces not only provide aesthetic value, but they also increase property value.

These spaces are important to the environment as a whole and play a crucial role in controlling the air pollution.

Laura Guttridge’s Journey

o Ms Guttridge was an animal lover even has a child and she has participated in various protests held for the safety and ethical treatment of animals.

o In the early 1990 s, Ms Guttridge founded a ′small animal rights organization, Marion County Voices for Animals located in Central Florida. The group played a crucial role in convincing The Marion County Animal Shelter to prevent the use of the cruel and outdated decompression chamber to kill unwanted animals, and switch to more lethal injections.

o She is a vegetarian and encourages the people to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle because it is healthy and saves the animals.

o Ms Guttridge promoted a vegetarian lifestyle by modeling as one of the “lettuce ladies”, at the 20th Gala for The Animal Rights Foundation of Florida. o As an author, she has written a book called “Gypsy the Christmas Cat”, which encourages the kids to love and respect the animals.
