operation within the European air traffic management network

(16) This Regulation has an impact on a wide range of parties. It

that provisions are applied progressively to achieve required data

• How fits OpenSource into that concept?

Keep in mind that the requirements of handling

aeronautical data are more complex than those of

several other domains. Prominent example is the

modelling of temporality.

Chapter II, Article 5:

1. The parties referred to in Article 2(2) shall ensure that the

aeronautical data and aeronautical information referred to in the second

subparagraph of Article 2(1) are transferred between themselves

by direct electronic connection.

2. Air navigation service providers shall ensure that the aeronautical

data and aeronautical information referred to in the second

subparagraph of Article 2(1) are transferred between themselves in

accordance with the data exchange format requirements laid down

in Annex II.
