The second largest cargo terminal in Brazil  and passenger

transportation has increased significantly in recent years.

May of 2014:

Aeroportos Brasil Viracopos will invest approximately US$ 2.06

billion in the construction of a new a passenger terminal with 28

boarding bridges, 7 new aircraft to remote positions and a parking

building with 4,000 spaces, as well as the expansion of taxiways

aircraft.

Brasilia International Airport

Currently receives about 16 million passengers

every year, and is now the third largest airport in Brazil. 

Hub for a number of destinations across the country.

 Inframérica Consortium will make heavy investments

to modernize and expand the Brasília Airport.

Terminals 1 and 2 will be renovated and a new one will be built, with 15 new boarding bridges divided into two piers.

The number of boarding bridges will increase from 13 to 28.

Parking spaces will double (from 1,500 to 3,000) and the airport entrance area will gain a new roof and access road.

The expansion works will increase the Airport's passenger handling capacity from 16 to 41 million pax/year.

Concessions for additional airports

The airport privatization model  in Rio de Janeiro

(Galeão) and Belo Horizonte (Confins) is expected

to be under the same criteria adopted in the Guarulhos,

Campinas and Brasilia terminals bidding.

R$ 19 billion offered by “Aeroportos do

Futuro” (Airports of the Future) Consortium,

formed by Odebrecht and Changi to win

Galeão International Airport’s concession.

Galeão is the second busiest airport in the country, handling

17.5mn passengers per year The airport's demand is expected to

jump to 60mn pax/year by the end of the 25-year concession, in 2038.

Besides airport apron expansion the concession calls for the

construction of 26 loading bridges and a new parking facility for 1,850

cars.

Among the improvements the renovation and expansion of the

Passenger Terminal 1 and the construction of the remote terminal

and the landing and takeoff runway that will increase in over 600m,

reaching 3,600m in length.

R$ 430 million will be invested until the World Cup.

Aerobrasil Consortium formed by

CCR, Zurich Airport and Munich Airport

was awarded management of Confins

with a bid of R$ 1.820 billion
